About Manuel E. Castro-Arreola, MD
Manuel E. Castro, MD, has more than 20 years of experience as a bariatric surgeon and has performed more than 4,500 surgical weight loss procedures. He has also been recognized in D Magazine as one of the “Best Doctors in Dallas” for the last five consecutive years. After earning his medical degree, Dr. Castro completed his residency in General Surgery at St Joseph Mercy Hospital in Pontiac, Michigan. He later completed a fellowship in surgical critical care at the University of Minnesota Hospitals and Clinics in Minneapolis. In addition to his many years as a practicing bariatric surgeon in Dallas, Dr. Castro has served as an assistant clinical professor and director of the trauma program at Texas Tech University School of Medicine in El Paso, TX.
Dr. Castro is certified by the American Board of Surgery and is a member of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery.
