Our Women's Center
Methodist Charlton's coordinated, compassionate care - before, during,
and after birth is provided by our experienced, skilled, and caring medical staff.
Our Women’s Center features:
- Level III Maternity Center
- 11 labor/delivery/recovery (LDR) suites
- 2 hydrotherapy tubs
- 4 bed Obstetrical Emergency Department
- 2 Surgical operating rooms for cesarean sections
- 8 bed Level II NICU
- 36 postpartum rooms

- North Texas Mother's Milk Bank drop-off location for donor breast milk

Mother and Baby Shared Care
Once your baby is finally here, you’ll want to remain close. “Rooming
in” gives you a great opportunity for bonding and allows our specialized
team of mother-baby nurses to educate, answer questions, provide support,
and make sure you’re both doing well.
Precious Moments Quiet Time
Quiet time is offered each day from 1 p.m. - 3 p.m. and 1 a.m. - 3 a.m.,
as well as the first 30 minutes following birth. Quiet time is intended to:
- Offer an extended period of rest
- Decrease postpartum sleep deprivation
- Facilitate bonding between mom and baby and dad and baby
- Allow moms to breastfeed without interruption
- Help families transition from hospital schedule to home schedule
During quiet time, visitors will not be allowed unless medically necessary
or invited by mom.
Classes Available
Learn more about Women and Children's services available for expectant

Baby Care Class - In this class we cover how to care for your newborn the first few weeks.
Each couple will have a baby manikin and will practice how to bathe, diaper,
swaddle and comfort your baby. We also discuss newborn appearance, calming
techniques, and common newborn behaviors. Class is free of cost.

Breastfeeding Class - This class is designed to help you and your partner get breastfeeding off
to a great start and to reach your breastfeeding goals. Please join us
as we discuss recognizing feeding cues, breast anatomy and physiology,
milk production, effective latch techniques, prevention and solution of
common challenges, pumping and storage and returning to work. Class is
free of cost.
Texas Ten Step Facility for Breastfeeding Care and Support
Methodist Charlton is a designated Texas Ten Step Member whose policies
promote breastfeeding.
