Chemical Dependency Intensive Outpatient Program

Designed to address issues surrounding addiction recovery on an outpatient basis

Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, 9 am to 12 pm.

The Chemical Dependency Intensive Outpatient Program at Methodist Richardson Medical Center is designed to address the issues surrounding addiction recovery on an outpatient basis. Our program is designed for individuals who are recovering from a substance abuse disorder and would benefit from the structure of a supportive environment.

Structured Group Counseling and Skills Training

  • Education on substance dependence disease concept/progression/management
  • Education and skills training for the maintenance of sobriety
  • Education and skills training for relapse prevention
  • Weekly sessions for the family, significant others, and/or supportive friends are offered as an ongoing part of the curriculum
  • Individualized treatment plans
  • Relapse prevention training

The program is designed to promote recovery in the least restrictive environment. The full program consists of 24 to 30 three-hour sessions offered three days per week. The program supports the 12-step philosophy, and patients are encouraged to secure a "sponsor" and attend AA and/or NA meetings. A supportive, structured, and goal-directed environment is an important part of recovery.
