Admission requirements for the Methodist Health System CPE program
Methodist Health System currently offers resident and internship opportunities
for Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE), Level I/Level II and Supervisory.

2025 – 2026 Residency - Full Time
The year-long Clinical Pastoral Education residency challenges CPE students
to integrate theological studies with hands-on ministry experience. This
program accepts first and second-year residents.

Dates: Monday, August 25, 2025 – Saturday, August 22, 2026

Stipend: $42,000 for first-year and second-year residents

Benefits: Medical insurance, dental insurance, PTO (paid time off), meal tickets

Tuition: $400 per unit

Prerequisites:
- Completed ACPE application
- Successful completion of one unit of CPE required
- Master of Divinity degree or equivalent (completed or in process)
- On-site interview with CPE screening committee
- Application review begins: January 2025
Certified Educator Candidate - Full Time
This residency is designed for the student seeking certification by ACPE
as a CPE supervisor.

Dates: Availability of the Supervisory Education Residency is subject to the
position being vacant.

Stipend: $35,500

Tuition: $400 per unit

Prerequisites:
- Completed ACPE application
- Successful completion of one year of CPE
- Master of Divinity degree required
- On-site interview with CPE screening committee
Extended Internship - Part Time
This part-time internship (two days per week maximum) is designed for ministers
interested in continuing education and vocational enhancement.

Prerequisites:
- Completed ACPE application
- Screening interview by ACPE supervisor (at Methodist when possible)
- Open to clergy and/or other laypersons
Summer Internship 2025
This full-time internship provides an introduction to pastoral care, pastoral
identity, and hospital ministry for seminary students, local ministers,
and lay ministers.

Dates: Monday, June 2, 2025 - Saturday, August 9, 2025

- Completed ACPE application
- Completion of at least one year seminary
- Screening interview by ACPE supervisor
- Application review begins: January 2025
