About Philip U. Ramirez, MD
A native of Dallas-Fort Worth, Philip Ramirez, MD, CWSP, earned his medical degree from Texas A&M Health Science Center, College of Medicine. He then completed his Family Medicine Residency from the University of Texas Northeast in Tyler, Texas. He is certified by both the American Board of Family Medicine and the American Board of Wound Management. Dr. Ramirez specializes in wound care and hyperbaric medicine, and his clinical interests include treating diabetes, foot ulcers, hypertension, hyperlipidemia, weight loss, diet and exercise counseling, preventative medicine, women’s health, and pediatrics.
Dr. Ramirez’s experience helping his mother through a diagnosis of breast cancer inspired him to become a physician. He is dedicated to spending extra time and truly getting to know his patients as holistic individuals. He focuses on implementing preventive medicine alongside medical treatment. In addition to providing personal medical care for patients, Dr. Ramirez is also committed to teaching and research. Dr. Ramirez has lectured at Baylor University Medical Center, Texas A&M, and UT Health Northeast. In his personal time, Dr. Ramirez enjoys practicing jujitsu, playing the piano and guitar, and spending time with his wife and children.
