About Niladri Basu, MD
New York City native, Niladri Basu, MD, is a board certified Orthopaedic Surgeon specializing in trauma. Dr. Basu earned his undergraduate degree from SUNY Stony Brook University and completed medical school at SUNY Upstate Medical University where he was elected into Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He completed his Orthopaedic Surgery residency at SUNY Downstate Medical Center followed by an orthopaedic trauma fellowship at Virginia Commonwealth University. He then went on to practice in NYC while also serving as a Clinical Assistant Professor.
Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, Dr. Basu specializes in treating deformity corrections from head to toes, and limb lengthening. He also treats poly and complex trauma injuries, infections, and fractions in the pelvis, long bones, and hip bones. Dr. Basu is passionate about advancing his field of study and equipping up-and-coming trauma surgeons through written publications, lectures, and serving as a clinical professor.
In addition to his clinical pursuits, Dr. Basu enjoys working on cars, auto racing, mountain biking, and weightlifting. He is also fluent in Bengali and conversational in Spanish.
