About Edgar T. Araiza, MD
Fort Worth native, Dr. Edgar Araiza graduated medical school from the University of Texas Medical School at Houston, followed by his residency in orthopaedic surgery at the University of Kansas School of Medicine. Dr. Araiza then completed his Orthopaedic Trauma Fellowship at Wake Forest University School of Medicine, where he also served as an assistant instructor in orthopaedic trauma.
Fluent in both English and Spanish, Dr. Araiza has had the opportunity to practice medicine all over the globe, including Romania, Africa, Mexico, as well as his home state of Texas. He has special interests in orthopaedic trauma surgery, which includes surgery of the pelvis and acetabulum, complex injuries around joints, bone nonunions and malunions, infection, and care of the multi-injured patient. Dr. Araiza also has a rich background in teaching, research, and presenting at both national and regional conferences.
Dr. Araiza has a passion for volunteering with local animal and homeless shelters, international medical mission work, pottery, and photography. When he is not working, he can be found exploring the great outdoors with his wife and their miniature schnauzer, Zedd.
